Martin Lodge Access
The main entrance to the lodge is through the double doors on the side of the Lodge.
Please use the boot rack for outdoor footwear and change shoes and boots when inside.
Access via the kitchen door is strictly reserved for catering staff and is not used by campers.
Main Hall
The Lodge features a spacious main hall equipped with ample tables and chairs for residents. The area may be used for various activities, except for games involving balls or similar items due to the risk of damage to lighting and windows.
Sleeping Accommodation
There are four dormitories, each accommodating four people. There are also two leaders’ rooms: one for two people and one for four. Bunk beds with basic waterproof mattresses are provided. Please bring your own sleeping bag and pillow and bedding.
Disabled Facilities
A purpose-built toilet and wet room are available for disabled people.
General Facilities and Kitchen
· Gas cooker and large fridge-freezer
· Storage units equipped with crockery and cutlery
· Separate male and female toilets and washrooms, including a shower
· Hot water provided at all basins
· Drying space for wet and damp clothing
· Gas central heating throughout the building, included in the accommodation price
For safety reasons, children and non-catering staff must not enter the kitchen area, where hazardous equipment such as hot water boilers and a gas range are present. Only two leaders may be present in the kitchen at any one time for food preparation and washing up.
Housekeeping
Users are responsible for thoroughly cleaning the Lodge upon departure, including sweeping and mopping all floors to maintain a clean environment. Failure to do so will result in an additional cleaning charge.
Any breakages must be reported and paid for before leaving.
Telephones
The Service Team will provide a telephone contact number during your stay. There are no telephones on the premises.
Rubbish/Waste
No waste collection services are available at the campsite. Guests are required to either remove or responsibly dispose of all rubbish and are encouraged to clear any litter.
Where possible, refuse may be burned onsite.
Alarms, Escapes & Incidents
Fire alarms are installed in the main hall, with fire extinguishers located in the kitchen and main corridor near the front door. Charges apply for unauthorised use of fire extinguishers.
When leaving the building or site, please activate the burglar alarm—the code can be obtained from the Service Team.
An incident book is provided for recording all accidents and must be reviewed with the camp warden prior to departure.
